6 officers open fire, killing gunman in New Hampshire – Boston News, Weather, Sports

MANCHESTER, NH (WHDH) — MANCHESTER, NH (AP) — New Hampshire Police Department, responding to an 911 call early Sunday morning regarding an incident of domestic violence, shot dead a gunman who refused to surrender to officers, Attorney General John M .Formella said in a statement.

Local police responded at around 12:20 am in a car park near a pharmacy in Manchester, where they were directed to a parked SUV, the statement said.

Officers saw an injured woman walking away from the vehicle.

A man in the vehicle, identified as Adnan Husejnovic, 33, of Manchester, refused to be arrested, leading to a standoff that lasted until just after 2am, the Attorney General said.

At this point, Husejnovic was shot.

The initial investigation found that six officers opened fire — four city officials and two state police officers — the attorney general said.

Neither officers nor civilians were injured.

Authorities did not say what type of gun the man had or if he was using it to threaten police. A voicemail was left on a spokesman for the Attorney General.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The names of the officers involved were not released.

The first officers to respond to the scene had body cameras, and the attorney general’s investigation will include a review of those cameras, as well as the cruiser cameras and any other video or audio files that recorded the standoff and shooting, the statement said.
