314-day celebrations take over Ballpark Village

ST. LOUIS – Ballpark Village is packed with culture, food and jerseys from St. Louis for the 314th day on Tuesday.
The City Day is a way for the community to come together and celebrate the history of the city. For the first time, the official celebrations for the 314th day took place in the Ballpark Village.
“It’s massive and we’re very proud,” said Donielle Elizabeth, a media officer for the event. “We are honored that Ballpark Village has welcomed us with open arms.”
It was a mostly standing room party in the village as at least a thousand expected people filled the venue. There were more than 20 musical performances throughout the night.
“I like the Dirty Muggs and The Lunatics,” said Mike Gerdine. “It brings back a little nostalgia from high school.”
St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones and Rep. Cori Bush also attended.
“This is our day, this is our holiday,” Jones said.
Elizabeth said the event was not just a party but an opportunity.
“314 Day is an opportunity to show youth that we can come together not just today, but every day in St. Louis,” she said.
