2022 Florida Python Challenge winners announced

The 2022 Florida Python Challenge will announce its winners once the competition concludes.

Matthew Concepcion removed 28 Burmese pythons and took home the ultimate grand prize of $10,000 courtesy of the Bergeron Everglades Foundation.

Dustin Crum won a $1,500 prize for the longest python, measuring 11 feet 0.24 inches.

231 invasive Burmese pythons were removed from the Everglades during the nearly 10-day competition.

“Once again, the Florida Python Challenge has produced impressive results as hundreds of invasive pythons have been removed from the wild,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said. “Removing these snakes is one of the many efforts we are making to restore and preserve the Everglades’ ecosystem.”
