2 operators, 1 passenger injured after Green Line trains collide near Government Center – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) — Two Green Line operators and a passenger were hospitalized Wednesday night after trains collided near the government center.

Service between Park Street and Union Square stations was suspended after two trains traveling in opposite directions grazed each other just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night, first responders confirmed.

The three, who were taken to a nearby hospital, are said to have all suffered minor injuries, Boston EMS said.

One of the buses is said to have had about 25 passengers on board, the other was empty, according to T.

Shuttle buses will replace trains between North Station and Lechmere for the time being, and officials are advising drivers to seek alternative modes of transport for service in the city centre.

The crash is still under investigation.
