2 dead, 1 injured after incident involving North Ogden family

When police arrived, the house was on fire and officials say it was a total loss.

(Fox13) As the home was on fire, officers entered the building and found a dead man and woman with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people are dead and another injured after police responded to an incident in North Ogden that resulted in a house fire on Thursday.

According to the North Ogden Police Department, officers received reports of gunshots being fired around 7:14 p.m. and responded to the home near the 3200 block of Mountain Road. Upon arrival, a man who did not live in the house came out and started shooting at the officers, who fired back, killing him.

As the house was on fire, officers entered the building and found another dead man and woman with non-life-threatening injuries inside.

The three people involved have been identified as husband, wife and brother, although it is not known which man shot officers and who was found inside the home.

Officials say the home was a complete loss but the fire was contained to the one home.

The investigation into the incident is expected to take days as investigators must ensure the home is safe to enter after the fire.

No police officer was seriously injured.
